Spanish Iron, Part 2

Back in October I posted an article and some pictures of David's H-D Iron (http://www.backroadsbuddha.com/2010/10/spanish-iron.html).  I was so taken by the work he had done on the bike and the excellent photography that I just had to post 'em up.

Well David continues to build out his baby and it continues to amaze me.  If Harley, or another manufacturer don't hire this guy they're stupid.  Based on the new Blackline and Highball, they are just that.

Here is more eye candy of on of the best looking Sportsters ever:

Lovin' the blacked out Fat Boy style wheels, wide whitewalls and that headlight is downright evil!

Very clean, very dark, very sinister...this bike even would make Buddha look like a badass!

David, you are a custom Sportster god!

Can't wait to see what comes next...

  1. Dear Sir:

A beautiful looking motorcycle in my favorite color. I am amazed at the visual effect those wheels have on the overall image. The headlight is downright evil. But your friend must have a bionic ass tio sit in that saddle for longer than 10 minutes at a time.

  3. Great looking bike and great photos. I love the way the whitewalls really 'pop' out in the pictures. Well done!

  4. I have never been a fan of whitewalls but David's bike really makes me want to go that route when it comes time to replace my tires (yes, I am cheap).

    Have fun and be safe

  6. Yeah Jack,
Just workin' my ass off 80+ hours per week to bring a project with a ridiculous timeline in on time in the hopes of not being outsourced to the world's second most populous country. You know, the American dream in the age of globalization.

  8. Chris,
David says the wheels and tires are from the FatBoy so that would make them 140/75R15 for the front and 200/55R17 on the rear. He changed out the tripple trees to 39 mm Wide Glide units to fit the wider wheels and tires.

  9. Hi!

I'm the owner of this scoot. I've been away from the custom world lately (family affairs...) and I have no idea about this entry in your blog. So I'm glad to see it now (some months after ;).

"In the road" again modding a couple of things. Time to replace the a/c, to build a front fender (already installed, custom made) and let's see what I'll do with the rear one. It's a neverending process, you know!!

Thanks for your words, and for the comments.

  10. Ah, sorry. Just a pending question. Both tires are 5". The twin wheels are 16", 3" wide.

  12. Bike looks beautiful. Do you know if you can fit a front tire like that one on an 883?

  13. This bike started life as an Iron which is an 883 so the same steps should apply.
